Main Role

Brett leads Liberty's underwriting strategy across Australia and holds regional leadership responsibilities for First Party across Asia Pacific. His remit includes providing coordinated underwriting direction, delivering regional product solutions, and strengthening client, broker and cedant engagement. 

Brett also has product oversight across Energy, Property, Construction, Terrorism and Marine throughout the Asia Pacific region.

Personal Profile

Brett began his insurance career in 1997 and joined Liberty in 2002, and has been working across the Asia Pacific region since 2008. He has extensive experience in the oil & gas, power generation and construction sectors, underwriting many of the region’s major refining, petrochemical, LNG and power generation risks over more than two decades.

He brings a long track record of underwriting leadership and commercial discipline and now plays a central role—alongside Marcus Thomas—in supporting Liberty’s legacy retail commercial lines, strengthening underwriting consistency and driving profitable growth across the region.

Brett has a Bachelor of Economics from the University of New England.
